Savvabilities and computer awesomtivitiesnesses

Ok gents and gems, you can go here to test your abilities...feel free to list your results don't worry, we'll be "laughing with you"!

http://quiz.ivillage.com/uk_computers/tests/savvy.htm

No this is not led zepplin, but it's "been a long time"

Woooo! time flies when your busy like crazy! But, don't get me wrong, all you busy little business bees and worker ants know exactly what I'm talking about.

To update a bit. Things are excellent here. Business is getting into gear as far as "taking off", pretty much at an expected pace. We've now shot Elegante, The Beehive, Copper Creek, Primetime, The Grace, The Paramount, Clark Gardens, The Zoo, Business Expo, Western Heritage, Vintage house, Cypress Street Station, and a couple of houses. (NOT ALL PAID FOR THOUGH!)

We've also been attending Chamber meetings, and business gatherings to do a bit of light networking. Getting a steady pace seems to be the hardest part, with the client's lack of computer knowledge a close second.

It's amazing that there are still so many uneducated computer users out there. I would have figured that with almost every element in our consumer world wrapped almost entirely around computers; from major technology, down to office applications, to the mundane, run of mill daily task (You can't even dry your hands in a bathroom now of days without a computer winking out at you from a wall mount,...waiting to stiff you on the towel usage as you feverishly swipe soaked hands back and forth back and forth) that we'd all be able to at least double click a mouse!

So I am now on a mission to find some sort of quiz or evaluation for all of you to test your Computer savvabilities (yes I made up that word...and yes it should be in the dictionary:)

Be right back!

CITY HALL!

Please pray - I am meeting with Nancy Lyles, the top dog at the Abilene Conventions and Visitors Bureau today at 3pm (Tuesday). We are going to negotiate a price for producing VT's of the top 10 to 15 or so places in Abilene. This should be huge! Please pray for Wisdom as I speak with her, Courage not to cower in the face of negotiation, and Boldness to sell the product. Humility to honor the city representative with my attitude and language. And anything else you can think of.

Today I shot the MCM Elegante with a view to show it to the Executives next Monday, and I am developing my fliers etc., hopefully in time for my meeting with the AVCB.

Please also pray for a door to open into the Real Estate Market.

I love you all that read.

Good night.

How Time Flies!

Ok...so my last post was February 15th. That makes it about...ummm...3 weeks since my last post. Damn it!

Thank You Jesus! I have been by myself since the end of October and all of my bills have been paid including a new transmission, water pump, starter motor, and 3 new tires.
I have not been sick at all.

Anyway, I finally got victory over my software and equipment and got the tour of Randy's house done. It took about 10 different trips out to the house, about 1000 pictures, about 4 nights of not enough sleep because tech support is in China, and a few doses of aggravation but I got victory!

Many of you have seen the tour but I don't know how. I thought Brandi had put a link to it on her blog but I couldn't find it.
Click Me!

Anyway, all is working well and as it should. I have finished Frontier Texas - It's awesome! click on the picture.
Today, I shot Copper Creek Restaurant and have already stitched the panoramics together. Tonight I shot pano's at the Warehouse. Tomorrow I am going to go to the Rattlesnake Roundup armed and dangerous. Next week, Steph has lined me up to shoot both Beehive locations, the Grace, the Center for Contemporary Art and The Paramount.

All of these jobs are pro-bono spec tours and so they need to turn into cash. I am confident that the clients will buy them, but if not, I am building a portfolio that I can take with me out of this market. If you know of anyone that might be interested, let me know.

I am in the middle of a video project for Allen Morris and a wedding video for Ira and Christina Akers, and I have just added a short video for TruBlu to the list.

I am busy because I can be, but I love doing it.

No Anaphylactic Shock here!

For Valentines day, I took Steph out for dinner at the Beehive in Abilene for the first time. I had escargot for the first time ever - I like it. The Fillet there is ranked 4th best in TX by Texas Monthly magazine, and they aren't kidding! It was a beautiful night. The atmosphere there was probably the best in town, and HappFat poked fun at me with a wee serenade. 'Wee' meaning small, like a 'tad'.
We should go some time!

Anyway, after dinner we went to the late viewing of I Am Legend. I didn't really have any idea what it was about before we went, but I jumped out of my seat like a girl several times.

A wonderful evening all the way around!

Ali, owner of the Beehive has agreed to let me shoot a tour of the restaurant.

Only Joking!

Ok, so you don't have to call me CHIEF! I am interested to see what all of blogvilles personalities come out to be.

I prefer this test to the DISC test, because the disc test tells me that I can be an ass, and this test tells me why!

Call me CHIEF!

Click to view my Personality Profile page

This is about the 5th time I have taken this test, and each time it comes out the same.
I am in very Good Company.

Voice Of Truth

Friday night I had the opportunity to go to the Casting Crowns concert...did anybody else get to go?

I love live concerts especially when it is a night of worship. This concert was nothing flashy, but God was there and He was lifted HIGH and glorified.

A couple of really cool things that they did was they had a splatter paint artist that did a painting during 2 songs - it was rehearsed of course, but the effect was powerful and anointed.
Another thing that they did was they all sat on stools at the front of the stage and one by one prayed over the audience, each praying over a different dynamic ie: the men, marriages, mums, addictions, etc.
This was very powerful!

I was especially excited to go because their lyrics are incredible and have been instrumental in lifting my head up and giving me strength over the last few months.

At the beginning of the year the Lord told me that the lyrics to 'Voice of Truth' would be the mantra for my life for this year.

"Voice Of Truth"

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!
"You'll never win"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Last Day!

YAY! No more early mornings for Tim.
I am extremely excited about being free to work during the day and persue my business and relationships at night. I look forward to socializing after hours without the stress of having to wake up at 3:00AM every morning.

The last month has been excruciatingly tiring as I have worked KTXS, Business Records Management and Lowe's and I have not had the strength to work on my business.

January Re-Cap

In January, my transmission died, my water pump died, my starter motor just died, and I had an attorney to pay. All of my bills were late, but they are being paid. I finish the month with a further $1500 of debt. What a year 2008 has been.
However, today is February 1, it is a new day, a new month, a change of vocation and God IS still Good!

Rumor Correction!

At the beginning of the year I revamped my blog. I also updated my profile to reflect my new position and wrote:
"I am in love with my creator, and in love
? with a girl."
Many of you are awkward around me and simply do not talk to me or have relationship with me and I feel that it is because of this statement and because of the girl.

The above statement was intended to be a tease not an announcement and I am sorry that it may have been taken as such. Rumors are terrible things because they bring division and hurt. And so are judgments for that matter.
I apologize for the statement and ask that if you are offended by me or feel awkward in your relationship with me because of this statement and subsequent rumor, to let it go. If there is another reason, please talk to me. I too need friends.

This is yet another lesson in 'Right Relationships' - Go to the person.

I am in a precarious position of redefining my identity with you all. You have known me as Erica's Husband and the video guy at church. Your relationship with me was based on this. I am no longer Erica's Husband and I am taking a hiatus from being the video guy. Therefore, I feel like you do not know me. I desire that you know me and have relationship with me.

2 more days!

Update!

5 more days!

Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder

Recently, I was diagnosed with Age Activated Attention Deficit
Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide
it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I
brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can
under the table and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the
garbage first.

But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take
out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table and see that there is only one check
left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house
to my desk where I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke
aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

The Coke is getting warm and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to
keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the
counter catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Coke on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've
been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to
water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water
and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the
remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I
decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the
flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the
floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the
spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to
do.

At the end of the day:

the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Coke is still sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses, and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really
baffled because I know I was busy all damn day, and I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem and I'll try to get some help for
it, but first I'll check my e-mail....

Happy New Year!

It has been a while since I last blogged and I have a lot of things to share, so check back often. But first:

While walking my dog, the Lord spoke to me about relationships:

I am my dog's best friend and she thinks she is mine. She loves to lay next to me on the bed at night, to shower me with kisses when I get home from work, to play with me. She likes to go out and play in the yard. She also likes to jump the fence.

This is not good because when she jumps the fence she comes back smelling like...well I'll say this first:
The dynamic of the relationship changes. I still love her to bits. I still want to do the things that we do together but we can't because of her behavior. She doesn't get that rolling around in cat poop drives a wedge between us.

I am not being judgmental of my dog, but she has to let me give her a bath before we can hang out.

This is a good picture of our relationships with one another and our relationship with God.

The moral of the story: Do you smell like cat poop?
Does your attitude, behavior, character stink?
If so, take a bath!
